Surah Olayemi Animashaun, the Epe Local Government Chairman, is spearheading a comprehensive Ramadan palliative program set to launch on March 19th.
This initiative, driven by Animashaun’s vision, aims to provide much-needed support to citizens struggling to afford basic meals during this sacred period.
During an exclusive interview with Ekohotblog, Surah Olayemi Animashaun emphasized the significance of the program, stating, “Ramadan is a time for fasting, prayer, and giving, but with the current economic situation in our country, many individuals and families are struggling to afford even the most basic meals.” She expressed heartbreak at witnessing fellow citizens unable to properly observe the holy month due to financial constraints, a realization that drove the local government, under her leadership, to take action.
“It is heartbreaking to witness our fellow citizens being unable to properly observe this holy month due to financial constraints,” Animashaun said. “This realization has driven us to take action and provide much-needed assistance through our Ramadan Palliative Programme.”
Surah Olayemi Animashaun’s Ramadan Palliative programme is a multifaceted initiative that aims to provide immediate relief while also laying the groundwork for long-term solutions. Through this endeavor, the local government seeks to empower the youth and create opportunities for investors in the community, fostering an environment that encourages entrepreneurship and sustainable economic growth.
“We recognize that sustainable development and economic growth are essential in addressing the root causes of poverty and food insecurity,” Animashaun explained. “By fostering an environment that encourages entrepreneurship and investment, we aim to create long-term solutions that will uplift our citizens and provide them with the means to lead dignified lives.”
Under Surah Olayemi Animashaun’s leadership, the government is actively working towards acquiring farmland to boost food production and mitigate the impact of economic hardship. Animashaun highlighted the importance of a reliable and sustainable food supply chain, stating, “We understand that a reliable and sustainable food supply chain is crucial in ensuring food security for our people. By investing in agriculture and supporting local farmers, we can not only create job opportunities but also contribute to the overall well-being of our community.”
The Ramadan Palliative programme spearheaded by Surah Olayemi Animashaun will also provide targeted support to fish farmers, small-scale businesses, and promote waste-to-wealth programs for the youth. “By empowering these sectors, we aim to diversify our economy, create sustainable livelihoods, and instill a sense of self-reliance and entrepreneurship among our citizens,” Animashaun said.
With a strong commitment to addressing the underlying causes of economic hardship, Surah Olayemi Animashaun called upon all members of the community to unite in this endeavor. “Together, we can overcome these challenges and pave the way for a brighter future,” she stated. “Let us embrace the spirit of Ramadan and extend our support to those in need, for it is through compassion and collective effort that we can truly make a difference.”
Under the visionary leadership of Surah Olayemi Animashaun, the Epe Local Government’s Ramadan Palliative programme, set to launch on March 19th, represents a concerted effort to alleviate the burden of economic hardship during this sacred period while also fostering long-term solutions for a more resilient and prosperous community.
