In the spirit of ramadan / Lent and the tenets of giving unconditionally, the Executive Chairman of Epe LGA, Hon. (Princess) Surah O. Animashaun, doles out palliatives to facilitate the observance of fasting.
The palliatives consist of various food items such as rice, yam, garri, beans, noddles, eggs etc.
This kind gesture is borne out of the magnanimity of the Executive Chairman in practical support of Muslim and Christian faithfuls.
The Chairman enthused that as we observe the 2024 fasting, Muslims and Christians should engage more in prayers, alms giving, and constant reading and understanding of the Holy Books.
Hon. (Princess) Surah Animashaun enjoined Muslims and Christians to use the opportunity of the fasting to call for God’s divine intervention in ensuring peace, harmony and economic stability in the country.
Ramadan / Lent being a holy month should move us closer to Almighty God and renew our hope in Him rather than being pessimistic.
This benevolent act by the Executive Chairman is one out of many people-oriented programs that she has carried out within her 3-year in office and the Ramadan/Lent Palliative Exercise is coming at a very critical period where the price surge in food items is biting hard on vulnerable individuals in the society and it’s only imperative to cushion the effect with practical measures such as this.
Regardless of the economic challenges being experienced, we can always remain optimistic and hopeful of light at the end of the tunnel
