Hon. (Princess) Surah Animashaun FHTI, Epe Local Government Chairman, has unveiled several developmental projects in less than 4 years of being in office.
Reeling out her achievements, the Chairman noted that all the projects that have been delivered so far were in line with her promise to the people of Epe to make them feel the impacts of government at the grassroots level.
These projects cuts across key areas such as infrastructure, education, sports, health, security, welfare, empowerment, tourism and agriculture.
Hon. Princess Surah O. Animashaun FHTI, concluded that as the first female to occupy the office of the Executive Chairman in Epe division, she is poised and determined to imprint her name in gold in the annals of history in Epe Local Government.
OVERVIEW OF THE PROJECTS
✅ Review and commencement of remodelling and renovations of 39 schools within Epe Local Government
✅ Completion of a block of 7 classrooms in Army Children’s School, Epe.
✅ Complete renovation and rehabilitation of the Customary Court.
✅ Construction of two boreholes in Erepoto – commissioned by this administration and completed by the youth in the community.
✅ Construction of two blocks of 8 public restroom facilities in Erepoto Community.
✅ Clearing and Rehabilitation of drainage systems within Epe Local Government to stop incessant flooding.
✅ Complete renovation of Legislative Chambers
✅ Complete renovation of the Chairman’s administrative building
✅ Complete renovation of the Vice Chairman’s Office
✅ Provision of two functional ambulances for the health centre
✅ Provision of Utility vehicles to the “Ibile Security team.”
✅ Construction of new roads equipped with solar powered street lights at Salaibu Lamidi Street and Ayetutu Street, Papa, Epe
✅ Purchase and distribution of farm implements to farmers.
✅ Production and distribution of back- to- school packages – school bags, books and writing materials for pupils.
✅ Recruitment of more teachers to provide employment for teaching staff and enable more robust learning opportunities for the children. Allocation of over 400 non-pensionable forms to teachers in Epe.
✅ Rehabilitation, registration and professional training of all local security bodies within the Epe community (OPC & Ibile) to curb security threats, promote more accountability and safety.
✅ Provision of wheelchairs and bedpans to Epe health centre and Epe general hospital
✅ Distribution of food items to the aged within the community.
✅ One year of free medical treatment for 100 aged people under the NHIS program
✅ Provision of work tools and support to empower the participants of the waste to wealth program.
✅ Establishment of Widows Support Scheme.
✅ Empowerment of barbers, hairdressers, entrepreneurs and the youth in general with tools of trade, equipment and soft loans to kickstart new ventures or for business expansion.
✅ Commemoration of World Tourism Day, 2021, the unveiling of the new face of Epe tourism, and the launch of the waterfront facilities at the Epe Marina.
✅ Promotion of Epe Alaro Tourism and inter-trade relationship by facilitating ample marketing and representation at two major tourism programs (Akwaaba African Travel Market at Eko Hotel & Expo 2020 in Dubai).
✅ Ongoing construction of the Ultra modern Multi purpose hall.
✅ Ongoing construction of the 10- room Doctors’ lodge.
✅ Distribution of 250 jamb forms to indigent students.
✅ Construction of box culvert at Olatunji Ojikutu street
✅ Distribution of 100 GCE Forms
✅ Rehabilitation of the Council Chamber.
✅ Monthly random payment of medical bills of the vulnerable.
✅Presentation of over 50 Bunk beds and other academic materials to Epe Grammar School Students
✅Presentation of standard white marker boards and other academic materials to all the primary schools in Epe LG.
✅ The Rehabilitation of 475m stretch on Adewale-Logun road
✅ Practical Training and Empowerment of over 500 people was organized on Waste to Wealth with Beneficiaries handed Starter Parks to become independent
✅Facelifting of Epe Police Station (All Offices, Reception Area, and all the Structures inside the Premises)…Both Sides and Front Elevations and also Equipped the offices with furnitures and the air conditioning systems
✅Replacement of suspended aluminum cladding and pvc ceiling at LG primary school, LASU road Epe Local Government.
✅The removal of the water hyacinth from its waterways with a view to enhance the transportation, fishing and other use of the waters in Epe Local Government.
✅ To Boost Tourism, Epe Local Government Partner NIHOTOUR For Skill Development Training.
At the end of the 3-days training, the 60 participants were presented with cash starter-pack by the Executive Chairman, Epe Local Government, Hon. Princess Surah, to begin their journey as Professional Tour Operators and Guides in Epe Local Government.
