Country Women Association of Nigeria (COWAN), an NGO committed to systemic and measurable empowerment of vulnerable rural and urban women, has awarded the Chairman of Epe, Hon. Princess Surah Animashaun FHTI for her leadership and empowerment of women on a large scale in the local government, during the association’s convergence and exhibition held on August 14, 2024, at Chamber Hall, Epe.
Also, in recognition of her enormous contribution to the uplifting of women, she was decorated as the Ambassador of COWAN by the National President, Princess Adesola Oduleye.
Speaking during the presentation of the award installation as Ambassador, Princess Adesola Oduleye stated that the award was a result of years of monitoring the Chairman’s activities as regards women support and empowerment, which the association wholly commends.
Earlier, the Chairman during her welcome address, said women play a pivotal role in building a prosperous society; hence the need to support them with different humanitarian initiatives.
She pleaded with other well-meaning individuals and organizations to also play a role in giving aids and training women to acquire different skills for sustenance.
Additionally, Princess Animashaun appreciated the Executives of COWAN and members for finding her worthy of the award. She noted that the award is a challenge to do more.
Speaking at the event, Mrs Camella appreciated everyone and assured them that all their challenges and requests will be looked into.
