I, Hon. (Princess) Surah Animashaun FHTI, the Executive Chairman of Epe LGA, join the nation and the world at large to celebrate teachers for their invaluable contribution, growth, and development of our dear Nigeria.
The exploits of Nigerians in their chosen professions have been inextricably linked to the incredible job done by teachers in nurturing and shaping the minds of our shining stars, some of whom have transformed industries and blazed illustrious paths locally and internationally.
With this year’s theme of “Valuing Teachers Voices: Towards a new social contract for education,” I want you to realize that your job is much more than facilitating learning. You are role models, counselors, and builders of future leaders, which is why, as the Chairman of Epe LGA, I firmly believe that valuing teachers voices is crucial in building a robust education system.
Teachers are the backbone of our educational institutions, and their input is essential in shaping policies that impact teaching and learning. It is imperative, therefore, that we create an environment where teachers feel heard, empowered, and supported to deliver quality education.
As we advocate for a new social contract for education, we recognize the need for collaborative efforts among teachers, policy makers, parents, and communities.
This partnership will ensure that education remains a top priority, and teachers receive the recognition and resources they deserve.
On this special day, I pledge my administration’s commitment to amplifying teachers’ voices, promoting teachers’ well-being, and fostering an inclusive ecosystem.
On this World Teachers Day 2024, I celebrate the dedication, passion and commitment of our teachers in shaping the lives of our future generation.
