Relief has come for the people of Owolomoshe, Oludegun, kajero Adan, Adisa Dina, Awe, Egbeunle, Shagari Estate, Peleyeju, S. Rahmon, Billy and Kadijatu Kareem Streets, all in Epe Local Government as construction of cell reinforced box culverts has commenced.
The Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. (Princess) Surah O. Animashaun FHTI, while making public the box culvert project noted that approval has been granted and work has commenced on the aforementioned streets on Monday, August 19, 2024.
Explaining the idea behind the project, the Chairman said the box culverts was an ideal structure aimed at ensuring smooth drainage of surface and sub-surface water along the affected streets.
Recall that recently, the residents in that area cried out to the Chairman about the flood along these streets which have resulted in untold hardship to residents and motorists as well as surrounding communities.
That is why this administration have decided to be proactive to bring an end to this problem for safety of lives, properties and environmental sustainability, the Chairman said.
Princess Surah, however, seeks the cooperation of residents and commuters along the affected areas to ensure timely completion of the box culverts, pointing out that any inconvenience as a result of the construction project is only momentary and for the overall benefits of all.
