EBI FESTIVAL is one of the major cultural festivals of the good people of Epeland.
Ebi is annually celebrated between the months of February and March where all ancestors, divinities are remembered and appeased.
The most fascinating part of the festival is the exhibition and display of Kilajolu masquerade symbolizing the obnoxious slave trade era in Epeland.
During this display, the “Akalajolu” as traditionally called will pay homage to His Royal Majesty Oloja and the paramount ruler of Epeland.
In the same vein, the Oloja too will pray for the sons and daughters of Epeland home and in diaspora and alongside the non Epe indigenes.
Series of activities are usually witnessed during this period and it takes 90 days of nonstop events.
Ebi Festival is seeing as one of Epe cultural tourism products and its value must be seen beyond cultural but the value in the area of economy must be well tapped to further boost the local economy of the Epeland.
This will form greater part of my tourism agenda while in office as the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government.
