Epe Local Government has taken another bold and decisive step towards environmental sustainability and public health advancement as I officially inaugurated the Environmental Marshals today, Monday, 30th March, 2026, at the Epe Local Government Secretariat.
The inauguration ceremony marks a significant milestone in the administration’s unwavering commitment to promoting a cleaner, safer, and more organized environment across the entire Local Government area. The Environmental Marshals, carefully selected and equipped for this critical assignment, are tasked with enforcing environmental laws, enhancing sanitation standards, and fostering a culture of responsibility among residents.
Environmental cleanliness is not just a civic duty but a collective responsibility that defines the health, dignity, and future of the community. The Environmental Marshals is a strategic move aimed at strengthening grassroots enforcement and ensuring that all environmental regulations are adhered to without compromise.
The initiative aligns with the broader vision of transforming Epe into a model of environmental excellence within Lagos State, where orderliness, hygiene, and sustainability are upheld as core values. The Chairman charged the newly inaugurated marshals to discharge their duties with integrity, professionalism, and a deep sense of service to the people.
The Environmental Marshals are expected to work closely with relevant stakeholders, community leaders, and residents to ensure compliance with sanitation laws, prevent indiscriminate waste disposal, and promote environmental awareness across all wards in Epe.
Dignitaries and key stakeholders present at the event included Hon. Sikiru Owolomoshe, the Vice Chairman of Epe Local Government; Hon. Rahman Saheed, Secretary to the Local Government; Mrs. Shofolu, the Council Manager; Comrade Toyin Gbadamosi, APC Epe LGA Chairman; alongside the Supervisors, Special Advisers, DPO, Tactical Squad Team, as well as the Management and Staff of Epe Local Government, all of whom graced the occasion in strong support of the administration’s commitment to environmental sustainability and effective governance.
