Epe Local Government today, 3rd December 2025, witnessed a landmark moment as the Executive Chairman, Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun, FHTI, convened the 2026 Budget Stakeholders Meeting, bringing together the voices of the people in a dynamic and inclusive forum designed to shape the year ahead. The meeting, held at the Local Government Secretariat, attracted an impressive assembly of traditional rulers, community influencers, market executives, youth representatives, women leaders, religious institutions, artisans, civil society organizations, and residents from across the Local Government.
The atmosphere was filled with renewed enthusiasm as the Chairman used the gathering not only to engage stakeholders on the 2026 budget direction but also to present an inspiring account of her stewardship so far. She reaffirmed her commitment to a government that listens, collaborates, and places community needs at the heart of its planning. In her address, she highlighted how her administration has steadily transformed Epe through infrastructural improvements, strengthened healthcare systems, expanded social welfare, and continuous support for education, market activities, youth development, local businesses, and community peace initiatives. Her stewardship narrative resonated deeply with participants, who applauded the significant progress recorded under her leadership.
Princess Surah Animashaun emphasized that the 2026 budget will be built on the foundations of transparency, accountability, and community-driven priorities. She stressed that no meaningful development can take place without the active involvement of the people, and assured stakeholders that their suggestions, concerns, and expectations will form the backbone of the final budget design. She described the meeting as a symbol of her administration’s open-door policy and its unwavering commitment to inclusive governance.
The Chairman’s address was met with admiration and praise as stakeholders acknowledged her visible achievements across neighbourhoods and the renewed hope she continues to inspire. As the event progressed, Hon. Ahmed Seriki, Commissioner, Local Government Service Commission, commended the Executive Chairman for what he described as a “clear demonstration of purposeful, people-centred leadership.” He applauded her consistent delivery of impactful projects and her openness to community dialogue, noting that Epe Local Government under her watch has become a model for effective grassroots administration in Lagos State.
Former Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Bola Gbabijo, also addressed the gathering and used the opportunity to encourage residents to take advantage of the ongoing Permanent Voter Card (PVC) collection exercise. He emphasized that development thrives when citizens actively participate in the democratic process and urged all eligible residents to pick up their PVCs as this remains the strongest tool for sustaining good governance.
Today’s meeting concluded with a collective sense of purpose, unity and optimism. It reaffirmed Epe Local Government’s determination to deepen development gains, sustain the momentum already created, and deliver a 2026 budget that truly reflects the needs and aspirations of its people.
