Hon. (Princess) Surah Olayemi Animashaun is the Executive Chairman of the Epe LocalGovernment Area in Lagos State and the first ever female local government chairman to beelected in the region.During her career, her pro-activeness and effectiveness saw her running various businesses and occupying positions of influence within the organizations she worked with, in little or no time. She also showed great initiative in her capacity as the Supervisor for Environment, Epe Local Government Area of Lagos State. Currently, Epe stands as one of the tidiest LGAs in the state with a highly efficient sanitation and waste management team. Hon. Surah O. Animashaun’s life has always been one of servitude and her objectives have often revolved around creating meaningful impact for all. This, amongst others, informed her decision to venture into politics and was the catalyst for her emergence as the Executive Chairman of Epe LGA – equipping her with a bigger platform to do more for the citizen of Epe LGA. She is a dedicated public servant, currently serving as the chairman of EPE Local government Area. With a strong background in Culture and Tourism, Urban and regional planning and hospitality. She brings a wealth of experience and a passion for community development to the position. Animashaun is committed to addressing the needs and concerns of the local residents, promoting transparency, and fostering sustainable growth within the community.

My key responsibilities:

  1. Overseeing the local government ‘s operations and administration.
  2. Implementing policies to enhance public services and infrastructure
  3. Collaborating with local stakeholders for community development initiatives
  4. Addressing the concerns of constituents and facilitating conflict resolution
  5. Managing the local government’s budget and financial resources responsibly

My Achievement:

  1. Road construction
  2. Central database record system for all EPE indigens for ease of access and support
  3. Drainage construction
  4. Refurbishment of office and institutional buildings
  5. Construction of a block of 7 Classrooms for pupils
  6. Construction of 6 blocks of public Toilets with a good water system
  7. Monthly cleaning and clearing of refuse and silted drains
  8. Women empowerment
  9. Healthcare delivery
  10. Agricultural support for local farmers
  11. Purchase of vehicles for vice chairman and Executive and legislative council
  12. Construction of Ayetoro market with a total of 100 multi-purpose shops and 175 key
    clamp stalls.
